Sophie is the latest colourist to join the team, fresh from international salons in Oman, Kuwait and Australia, and with more than 17 years’ experience in hair colour. This month we asked Sophie to tell us a bit more about her and what inspires her as a hairdresser.
My biggest achievement so far
Winning Australian Colourist of the Year, and being flown to New York to represent Australia with the Wella Trend team.
My favourite colour
For colour it has to be balayage –
it’s so modern, versatile and easy to maintain. Balayage allows me to create something really unique for every
client.
My favourite hair products
label.m Thickening Crème (98dhs) – Apply to the hair before you blowdry. When you add heat it expands the hair cuticle to add thickness and body to the hair.
L’Oreal TecniArt Savage Panache (52dhs) - This adds body and texture to the hair without it feeling powdery or stiff.
My inspiration
My main inspiration is my mum who owned her own salon when I was growing up and where I my passion for hairdressing began, when I worked as a Saturday girl at age 13.
In terms of other colourists, it has to be @joshwoodcolour. He produces amazing and very unique colour work.
My favourite part of hairdressing
I love the fact that I’m meeting new people every day and helping make their day feel just that little bit better when they leave the salon.
